Our Focus

December 10, 2020 | Can you believe it? It has been two years since Friends was founded! We’ve evolved over the last two years and are proud to report our focus areas:

  • Continue and enhance our Know & Grow literacy program for kindergarteners and first-graders.
  • Re-start the volunteer Reading Buddies for kindergarteners and first-graders once COVID restrictions are eased.
  • Enrich the K to 5 science program with teaching tools and activity supplies.
  • Beautify and restore the grounds to instill pride and set the example of how a property should be maintained.
  • Encourage the community to get involved with the school.

We look forward to continuing to serve the students (and teachers!) of Dinsmore Elementary!

The Idea

2018 | The principal, Mrs. Reese, holds an annual Dinner with Santa as a way to raise money for student awards. In 2017 and 2018 she asked Linda Brunson to volunteer her skills as a balloon twister to work the event. This got Linda thinking about all the school’s unmet needs. Friends of Dinsmore Elementary came about as a way to meet those needs.
